Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria
Any currently affiliated member of the NJSA such as a League, a Team, an elected Officer or the NJ Hall of Fame Committee, may submit a nomination for induction into the NJSA Hall of Fame.
In order to be considered for induction into the NJSA Hall of Fame, a nominee must be nominated in one of the following categories: administrators, coaches, players, or referees.
A nominee must meet the criteria specified for the category is being nominated for.
Nominees that meet the qualifications under two or more categories may be nominated for consideration under each category, and the NJSA Hall of Fame Committee shall determine which category will be assigned to the nominee.
All nominees shall be chosen on the basis of having made a significant contribution toward the development and advancement of adult amateur soccer under the jurisdiction of the NJSA. Nominees may be either active or inactive in adult amateur soccer when nominated.
Deceased persons, if elected, shall be inducted posthumously.
Administrator candidates shall include persons who have served as officers of the NJSA, or of a NJSA League or a NJSA team and, in their capacities, have rendered exceptional service to adult amateur soccer within the NJSA over an extended period of time of at least 10 years. This category also includes those apart from these capacities that, by their assistance, sponsorship, or other valuable contribution, have furthered the development of adult amateur soccer within the NJSA.
Coaching candidates shall be those who have served the NJSA affiliated amateur soccer community in a coaching capacity over an extended period of time of at least 10 years, exhibiting exceptional coaching and teaching ability, as well as coaching success at the State and/or League levels. Candidates should also have contributed to the promotion and growth of a positive image of adult amateur soccer and of the NJSA programs.
Player candidates shall have played at the highest State and League levels within the NJSA, for a combined minimum period of 10 years. They must have exhibited the attributes of teamwork and advanced technical playing skills, implementing tactical abilities, demonstrating an ability to read the game, and using the principles of Fair Play and respect for other players.
Nominees must have also demonstrated a love and respect for the game in general and for the NJSA adult amateur soccer specifically during their days as players.
Referee candidates shall have served the NJSA adult amateur soccer community in the referees programs either as a referee or as an administrator within the NJSA referee programs, over an extended period of time of at least 10 years.
